ANSWER:

Well you will never get your dog back as they already have him, and it's only worth it to them to just do what they want to do.

You did give them your contact info and they can try to contact you. I would try to call them and ask them to call you back, if they do then at least you'll know they did.

If they don't call you then try to have your friend call them to ask if you can contact them.

I would try to find out if there's anyway they can send your dog back to you, but it's unlikely.

I would try to convince your brother to give your dog back, even if they had the legal right to keep him, it's not right.

They are most likely just going to return your dog to you, but if it doesn't work out then they can't be held responsible for any problems that happen later, I'm sorry but that's the way things go sometimes.

If you want to do something you would need to get a lawyer, which would cost more money than you could ever imagine.

In my experience most places have an amount they'll refund your deposit, so maybe ask if they would still do that, or do a refund via your bank if it's their bank that's doing the refund.

I hope this helps.

QUESTION:

Can I get him back even though I signed documents?

So last week we went in to the shelter to get a dog. We met a young girl named Emily and we picked her dog up. He was a 2 year old pitbull mix and he had been there for about two weeks. I have to say he was one of the best dogs I have ever had the chance to meet. We named him Jango and his name tag sd a lot about him. He was a gentle mannered dog. We were given two papers to sign. We signed them and left. We never signed the ownership papers as there were no other signatures. On my last day there I picked up the paperwork and there was a $100 dollar deposit on it.

My question is can I just get him back even though I never signed the papers. It was his first day with us.

My dog has been there for 10 days and has been microchipped, spayed and neutered. I left his papers and a donation in the donation box. When I returned today, he was adopted and a new bag with papers and a receipt was attached. The owner also told me that I wouldn't be getting my deposit back. I told her that I already had my papers and my dog is my responsibility. She told me that it was a no return situation. I have been to the shelter every day to check on him. Is she legally allowed to do this? What can I do to get my money back?
