Matching socks with cat hair

Matching socks are one of those odd quirks that can be a real pain for me.

It’s not so much the matching pairs as the hair on the socks that I have to contend with. As most people know, my cat has a hair ball problem. It’s very common, and she will sometimes leave strands of fur behind when she rubs. When that happens, it seems to match on a socks, so I get two pairs of hair socks.

This is what the hair sock looks like. The grey ones match with grey socks, but I can’t figure out how the black one works.

This makes it a bit of a challenge to choose which socks go with which other socks. When I change clothes for a day at work, I usually end up matching a lot of socks, and it’s a pain to keep the hair sock with the matching pair.

What socks do you match up?

You are so cute!! My cat is a hairy beast, so we keep one of these (white ones) in the box and the grey kind matches with his grey socks. They work so well! As for me, I have no problem choosing socks…they come in pairs, so the same ones always match. I guess it’s what’s supposed to be!

We have had that same problem at home. My kitties are always shedding so one pair of socks gets replaced every 4-5 days and sometimes as much as a week. I usually just pull out one of the two pairs that match and the white one is my lucky pair. Then I throw out the other one that doesn’t match and just wear my lucky pair.

So cute! My cat is a hairball, so I have that exact same problem. I don’t always match up her socks, but it’s usually just the one or two pairs we have in the drawer. I was in your shoes last week – what an awesome idea! I don’t know that I’ll be able to pull that off because my daughter is a hairball too. I think she’s getting bald though. Haha.

Ya know, I have to laugh at the socks for me. Every day I have three or four socks, and that’s the exact number of socks in my drawers. It’s funny because I have a “hairless” cat and I have a “hairball” cat. My second cat sheds quite a bit. So, I would wear the same pair of socks, every day. My husband hates my socks. He hates when I get up in the morning and look in my drawer and see socks there. I tell him he has to do it. He can only make me laugh and I think my cat looks really cute.

Thanks! I like the name Hairball Kitty! My wife’s cat is also an hairball and a hairball, so I have that problem too. My cat only likes wearing black. I wish she would wear other colors. I used to have a pair of green socks but she didn’t like those. It’s great when she wants to go outside in her house shoes, she only has to grab one of her pairs. I can wear the same pair all the time.

Wow. What a great idea. I love that cat, although it is hard to get a picture of the hairballs, that’s a huge job. I like the idea of the cat with a sock, as it is something you can wear and it has value. My cat wears my underwear, which I consider to be a great trade. I’ll take a picture and send it to you.

Hello,

Great idea of cat with a pair of socks, even the hairball one is really cute. I have two cats in my house and they love to wear socks. The biggest problem I have is the dirty socks. The cat has to clean them up for me and some are so big. It seems that she even doesn’t like to take her socks off!

You’re right, it’s the dirty socks that we have the hardest time getting rid of. My cat eats them. I’ll try to get a picture of him eating them to send to you. You’ll just have to guess which kind of dirty sock he’s eating… ,)

Cats have the same hairballs we do, so if you really like the furry hairballs, you can probably ask your vet to sedate your cat to have him roll up in a ball of fuzz, I imagine that would be an awesome experience.
