It might be considered good nutritional real estate, but avocados could also be a dangerous thing for your dog. Avocados, like tomatoes, have enough vitamin A to cause toxicosis in some dogs, says Dr. Nancy Easton. Easton is a veterinarian and co-author of the book, Nutritional Therapy for Dogs and Cats.

While avocados are often touted as a healthy, nutritious food for dogs, one problem with this plant is that too much avocado can be toxic to dogs.

"Because avocados are so high in fat, you can have a very small amount of avocado go very wrong," says Easton. When avocado goes wrong, it could cause problems such as seizures, paralysis, and heart problems.

Even in small doses, avocado could cause a dog's intestines to get inflamed. If your dog ate just a couple of tablespoons of avocado, then it could cause a blockage in your dog's digestive tract.

Avocado-rich diets could also change a dog's acid-base balance, which could cause problems in certain breeds, like Labradors.

According to Easton, dogs with certain genetic disorders can develop a disease called "acid-base imbalance" when their diet is too high in sodium.

For dogs, avocados aren't really the healthiest food, especially for older dogs, Easton says. But, they are still healthy for humans.

"I think avocados are a great food for the human diet," Easton says.

So, if your dog gets into an avocado, don't panic. It could be bad for your dog, but it doesn't mean it's time to start feeding your dog human food.

The avocado is a good source of potassium, fiber, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids.

If you're worried about how to stop your dog from eating your fruit, then don't worry. Just stick to the simple rule of avoiding the fruit before they're ripe.

A healthy dog's digestive system is an important part of overall health.

For this reason, you should make sure you give your dog the best nutrition you can.

So don't let your dog get into your avocados. You can have them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

But, don't allow your dog to eat them while they are still green.

That's probably a good rule to stick to when it comes to fruit, too.

If you're worried about your dog's poop, then you need to get your dog checked out by your veterinarian.

A healthy digestive system is a key part of your dog's overall health.

To make sure it's the best it can be, your dog needs to be able to get the nutrients it needs to function at its best.

You'll want to give your dog plenty of time to digest its food, so always make sure to feed your dog enough time
